NAVIO™ Surgical System

What is a NAVIO™ robotics-assisted knee replacement?

The Hospitals of Providence is proud to utilize the NAVIO™ robotics-assisted surgical system.

The NAVIO™ system is an advancement in the way orthopedic surgeons perform partial and total knee replacement. Each procedure is individualized based on the patient’s unique anatomy. The system works in conjunction with the surgeon’s skilled hands and is intended to achieve a high level of precision with positioning of components during surgery. This added level of accuracy is designed to help improve the function, feel and potential longevity of the knee implant.

How Does the NAVIO™ system work?

The NAVIO™ system provides robotic assistance through an advanced computer program that relays precise information about your knee to a robotics-assisted handpiece used by the surgeon during the procedure. By collecting patient-specific information, boundaries are established for the robotics-assisted handpiece so the surgeon can balance your joint and position components with great precision.

Benefits May Include:

  • No computed tomography (CT) scan needed prior to the procedure
  • Tailored anatomy and ligament balance
  • Consistent results
  • Accurately placed implants
  • Less pain
  • Quicker rehabilitation
  • Reduction of complications
  • Smaller incisions
